Default My wrecked 1989 Civic Hatchback and 1991 CRX HF

I wrecked my hatchback pretty badly the other night. I'm trying to determine if it's worth fixing, or if I should part it out and scrap what is left. I would hate to see it go because it was a solid car. I could use the engine for the CRX anyway as it has problems with its. On to some pictures.

Is it though? The dog house still looks like it's in good shape.

I priced a windshield to be installed at $300. Aside from that, it will need new fenders and bumper. Somehow the hood looks alright... I just really don't want to salvage a Honda that don't need to be.

Thankfully, no. I walked away with a 1" chicken scratch on my neck and a serious headache.

Remove the bumper and take a look at the frame. It's hard to tell with the bumper still on.

I removed the bumper and filler. The bumper cover has a crack in it but the reinforcement looks good. The filler could be used but I am going to replace. I am concerned about the gap between my driver side fender and door. Sorry for the crappy pictures.

The rest of my corner light wouldn't come out. I found out the screw was bent over on the backside. I'm not sure if this was caused by the impact or not...

It looks like your entire core support is bent to the right. You can tell by how it pulled both of your headlights to the right a little bit. You can buy a new core support and that would probably fix most of the issues with the front end.

How can I confirm this? Any certain measurements, etc.? Could I bend it back if it is bent? If I need to buy one where should I buy it? Does it have to be welded in?

Yes it look like its bended to the right,
i agree the best solution is to change the entire core support.

You need to drill all the spotweld, than you can remove it pretty easily
yes the new one will need to be welded in place.

save another hatch !!!!!

I would love to save it, but I am concerned the frame being bent even with a new core support. I don't want to just assume that's going to fix it.
