93 Del sol no ground from computer on A7/A8
I've got a 93 Del Sol that will not run. Fuel pump doesn't prime. The computer isn't activating the main relay. If I ground A7/A8 from the computer the pump primes. I have power at the computer on B1 and A25. Also have grounds at the computer on B2, A23, A24, and A26. Anyone have any ideas what else to check?
Just wouldn't start one morning. CEL stays on. Can't pull codes. No spark and no fuel. I tried swapping the ECU. But the one I got is for an Automatic and the car is a standard so I'm not sure if it will work or not.
Try it and see if it outputs the logic ground you need.
I did. And it didn't. So I'm not sure if the automatic computer just won't work with the standard car or if it's a different problem all together.

The ECU is grounded thru the ground wires attached to the thermostat housing. Disconnect and clean that contact point.
Otherwise it sounds like burned out capacitors in the ECU (like C14) that causes the fuel pump not to prime. Common problem.
Use known good ECU which means you witnessed it started another car.
These 93 del sol ECU's are dying. 21 years old in a leaky humid vehicle.
I know because I have/had a couple of them.
I own them in pairs. LOL

The computer has good grounds, the thermostat housing ground is clean and tight. Just have to find a good ECU to try in it. Hopefully I can find something over the weekend to try out.
