Whats up you guys? Im new to boosting/building a Honda and im trying to figure out everything and i know all the basics pistons rods valve springs/retainers turbo stuff injectors ive pretty much got everything internal figured out except.... Should i sleeve my motor? im wanting a daily its a SOHC D16y8 im wanting to push around 10-12lbs of boost and atleast 215hp. So if yes i need to sleeve it then is there any kind of extra measuring i need to do for the bore other than the bore necessary for bigger rods and pistons? and do i need a better cam? And since im a noob i guess feel free to just make sure i know everything lol i wanna make sure im doing it right and right the first time. Thank you

 

How reliable do you want your engine to be? On a completely stock, healthy Y8, I wouldn't boost higher than 7-8 psi on a small turbo (14b, 15g, etc.).

What kind of turbo are you buying? What is your budget for everything?

 

well ive got vitara 75.5mm pistons eagle h-beam rods 550cc injectors bigger fuel pump im going 50 trim probably greddy ive got enough money for whatever i need lets say that lol im buying a d16y8 under 40,000 miles and building it And on reliability umm im making sure it can take and hold boost like a champ its gonna be a dd and im getting pretty much everything internally upgraded and im doing myself so i know exactly what on my car

OP, go read the FAQ sticky, then use this awesome thing called Google. It's been around for quite a few years now. You're asking F/I 100 questions right now. Not even 101, straight up 100. If you aren't willing to put the infinitesimal amount of effort required into finding the answers for these painfully simple questions, you are no where near mentally prepared or capable of building and owning a F/I car.
