Default 1990 HONDA ACCORD BRAKE PROBLEMS

Hello I have a 1990 HONDA ACCORD. Originally calipers were seizing on my car smoking blue at times and clicking when changing from reverse to drive drive to reverse I know it's a brake pad shift but even after having New rotors, calipers, brake lines and pads put on the car it seems the brake pads are shifting just as bad if not worse when moving the shifter to d or r the click only happens once when I press brake after changing gear selector. Please do not tell me this is normal as I drive my car for hours on end every day and I notice when the calipers/pads click the calipers/brakes start to overheat as I can even smell the burning when it does. My mechanic claims he can't figure it out and suggested a change of master cylinder but I do not think it is that. When I bought the car for the first two years it has never had a clicking in the brakes ever and I need to figure this out as it is my daily driver. Thank you in advanced for anyone who helps. Also I heard it may be the aftermarket brake pad guides saw online someone with a 2007 HONDA ACCORD had the same problems went to OEM HONDA shims and guides no problems after at all but before I start buying more parts I would like to get others opinions.

What brand of pads did you use?
Cheap pads may not fit the caliper/caliper cage correctly.
I usually avoid using the provided anti-sqeak shims as these can cause a bit of squish in the pedal if you get the brakes hot enough. Instead I use CRC Disc Brake Quiet on the back of the pad to glue it to the piston and caliper cage.

Also have you removed/popped out the sliding pins and applied high temp brake grease? If they are greased fully already you may simply be due for some new rebuilt calipers. Over time they start to get cockeyed and will bind up on their own.

I'm having problems breaking. I replaced both rotors, break pads, and one caliper. But there seems a lag on the breaks. I have to press on the breaks much deeper that any other car I've used. I also make sure the the break fluid is always full. It's been bugging me how the breaks delay and could be dangerous to drive around with unreliable breaks.

UPDATE: OK here's what I've done so far to try and figure it out. I sat in drive with emergency brake kept shifting from reverse to drive I heard clicking once every 3-5 times or so but when I use the brake pedal I hear the click every time I go into reverse ONLY it was doing it going to drive too but not sure what happened. It still sounds like the pads shifting but I will have to see tonight when I'm working if the caliper still overheats. Thank you for both if your replies.
I use AKEBONO ACT465 brake pads and the caliper pins are properly lubricated. Alex when was the last time your brake fluid was changed or bled? Have you checked for any leaks around the master cylinder or the thickness of what's left on your brake pads? Please get back to me as soon as possible as I will do my best to try and help you. Also does pumping the brake pedal bring it further up from the floor with better braking?

The brake hoses might be having a "check valve effect". Also known as a collapsed brake hose. http://www.tomorrowstechnician.com/p...e-diagnostics/

Have you verified your rear brakes are properly adjusted?
Do you have drums or discs?

I have actually. That's one of the reasons why I changed in of the calipers. But no there is no leakage. I would pump the break pedal but it doesn't really do much. I've been told it could be the break booster, but I'm not quite sure.I would make sure the break fluid would be full weekly. I bought new break pads and rotors about a month or so ago, I'll check again but I don't think it could be that.
