Default vtec solenoid questions. please help

OK so I have two 2001 preludes. One is sI blue and the other is red. The blue one is off the Rd right now but it has a td77 distributor with external coil. And the red has td 60 with internal coil. My red one has 60k on the car and is my current project. Well my vtec started acting up like it needs to be cleaned. My oil levels are fine so I know it's not that. Well when I took the solenoid off to Clean the screen to my surprise there was no screen. I've never seen one like this. Any idea of what it is off of or if I should put a regular one on or what.. please help.

Odd should have the screen? If it doesnt have a screen I would add one on there!

How do you know? Is it revlimiting? Sometimes the vtec solenoid will go bad but it wont throw a code.

I have a different ecu in here so I don't know if it would throw a code.. my question is can I use any vtec solenoid? Cause like I said the one on my red car has no screen on it. It'a different than the one on my blue car.

All H22/3 have the same solenoid, try swapping them car to car.

And the one with no screen may have been clogged up due to that, so I would just go find one from another car, and put it on with a new screen/ gasket from Honda.

I'm overdue for an oil change too. Could that effect it too?
