Stripped transmission drain plug...UGH!!HOW TO REMOVE IT?
I went to the car today, took off the tire, jacked the car up and had my 3/8ths ratchet drive extension ready to remove the plug for a drain & fill and it appears the previous owner obviously over torqued and it appears if a portion of someone else's 3/8ths drive is inside there...broken at where the small button would attach the extension tool to the ratchet.
Is there any tool to help remove that or get this drain plug out? As even before I encountered this issue I had planned to replace that drain plug.

If there is something broken off inside the square drive, can you use a drift/cold chisel to knock it out?
If not have you tried using V-Grip Channel Locks or Vise-Grips to grab the outer diameter of the bolt head?

Get a 1/4" drill bit and drill right into the middle of it. Don't get carried away and drill all the way thru the plug, but thru the piece broken off. Once you have done that get a small chisel and hammer. You oughta be able to give a few strategic hits and get it to break apart, and then it will just be a matter of digging it out. Good luck!
Beware! Resist the temptation to drill it out and try to use an EZ out type product. If that thing breaks off, you are SCREWED! They are hardened, and dang near impossible to drill out once they break off.
