Hi guys. I was on the forum earlier asking about a CEL and ecu won't connect to scanner problem, now that's solved and my car's got new problems now.

So my car is a 97 ls with B18C1 swap

When I get to high rpms, especially after entering Vtec, my engine would start to smell like... Heat.

Like the smell of a pot after the water in it gets boiled dry. It's not anything stinky, it just smells like heat, like really really hot stuff, maybe burnt stuff.

The smell goes away quickly after I turn off the engine, or just let the car idol, it goes away so quickly (can barely smell it after about 90-120 seconds) that for a couple of times I tried to look for the source of the smell but couldn't find it.

could be just the burning of oil...... is it dripping anything?

 

could just be dirt depends on how clean your bay is, with a tucked bay I could see any dirt that may cause any smell or problems.
