Default Back again, 98 Civic HX 5MT

In 2011, I came across a deal on a 98 EX auto. I had to grab it. For almost two years it was my daily never letting me down. I cleaned it up, and made it mine. It was a really good car, but I couldn't drive auto anymore. I sold it for a big profit, and picked up my Accord 6-6. Last winter I needed a winter car, so I got a 95 Prelude S 5MT. It was a great car, but just too cramped.

I came across a 98 Civic HX 5MT 193k for $2500. The car needed tires, two lower motor mounts, a drive side axle, and an idler pulley for the A/C to work. I purchased the car for $1800. I fixed everything except the axle isn't installed yet.

The car is getting 36-38mpg with the A/C on all the time. I'm using it as a commuter/work car to save my Accord 6-6 from getting destroyed by construction equipment. I've already had offers for people to buy it, but I don't intend to sell anytime soon.

I hadn't really looked at the HX/D16Y5 before. I've always liked the D15Z1 and the D16Y5 looks like a good update. Maybe time to sell my 'Sol and try out an HX.

Only if you really want good fuel economy. That's about all its really good for. It's a very basic car, and is reliable as expected.

Cleaned it up a bit today. I've changed the Axles, and starter as well. Spent some time to clean up the rims.

Looks pretty damn good for 2,500. Good pick up, I'm currently looking for one myself.
