Default Vtec block with GE sandwich plate for oil feed?

Ive searched but cant really find the answer or any evidence that ppl have done this setup before...need you guys opinions.

I have GSR head that Im currently using for my dd b20vtec. Ive welded shut the oil feed on my GSR head(i know i shouldnt have done this, i know...) for b20v build. I recently found built turbo b16 block for dirt cheap locally and considering going turbo reusing my GSR head instead of buying another vtec head.

In case like this, is it ok to get the oil feed from sandwich plate? I know it would work but i feel like missing out on something that leads to failure. Should i close the oil feed on vtec block to make sure theres no pressure there? Any opinion?
