Default d15b2 to d16z6 swap

First I would like to know how to identify what car this d16z6 motor was out of.. Was told 07 civic 26k miles was rolled and motor been sitting g for 4 years... I have pic In my album. Second this is VTEC and mine is not, so wondering what parts am going to need for this swap??? This is a multi injection(4injectors) motor going into a dual point I ejection system..
1st am I going to need a ecm out of car from Motor or can I use any vtech ecm or just chip ecm I got..
2nd if needed ecm will it plug into my harness...
3rd will my harness under hood plug into motor or do I need to do some splicing, is there conversion kits...
I'm poor so cheaper the better.
4th since I have whole motor which is better putting motor in or just doing mini me swap, which produces more hbp with better fuel economy...

If any one could answer any of the above queztions it would be great and if anyo e has any input or personal experience they would like to share is more than Welcome to pin it... thanx honda tech and have a great day.... you can email me directly @ kkaindabirdkilla@yahoo or just post here either way I will get it thank you again....

I can tell that you have done very little (or maybe none at all) searching on this site or on the internet for these answers.
This is a very common swap so you should have no problem finding anything you need to know.
Since you have under 10 posts, I'll give you the answers.
Next time, please check the top of the forum in the FAQ sticky and do your homework on Google.

D16Z6 was offered in the 92~95 Civic Si hatchback, Civic EX, and Del Sol Si. Somebody told you a fib when they told you it was from an '07.
There s some wiring you will need to deal with to get vtec to work. As the same with the vtec, you will also need to do some wiring to support the 2 additional injectors.
The DPFI to MPFI conversion is what you will need to look for regarding the 2 injector to 4 injector conversion.

1) You should use the ECU that the engine originally came with for it to run like it was originally intended to. There are other ECUs of the 92~95 years than can be modified to run your engine properly. Your current ECU can -NOT- be used.
2) The 92~95 ECU will not plug into your harness. You will need a 'jumper' harness to convert from your stock pre-OBD (commonly refered to as OBD0) wiring to the OBD1 layout (wiring supported in 92~95). This will also include a couple wires for updated engine electronics which are very easy to incorporate.
3) For easy and simplicity, you should use your stock engine harness and adapt it to your new motor. Swapping engine harnesses results in a wiring nightmare because the newer engine harness will not plug into the connectors to pass through the firewall.
4) If you have the entire engine to swap in, then that is the way to go.

The heck if I'm going to email you.

LOL. I totally agree with 4drEF, as usual. He was pretty blunt about it too.

Nah, doubt it. (In reference to working on it)

This is what made me laugh. When I see a dumb question and 2 posts I usually don't bother with it.

But I also understand that searching leads to many dead ends. Sometimes you get old information that is out of date too. And the worst thing, for me, is broken picture links. I'm a very visual learner and I feel much more confident when I can see things. But searching is usually much faster than relying on someone else to answer a question that has been answered before.

Also, OP, definitely swap the whole D16Z6 in there. Works way better than any mini-me. And next time search before you believe that your 20 year old motor came in a 7 year old car, sat for a couple years completely protected and only has 26k on the clock.

That's the motor from your album.

Here are the '07 motors. The R18 and K20.

Here is a D16Z6 VTEC motor.

Your Z6 is probably from a Del Sol. I believe it was the 1994 model or something that came without a stamped valve cover. But you still have the solenoid so it should be a VTEC head. Just confirm the stamp on the engine block, left of the exhaust manifold. Also, check the compression on it before you go too far. You can hook a started up to the motor and spin it off a battery before you put it in the car.
