help my car won't run
I have a manual 1994 honda accord ex. A couple of months ago it started sputtering a lot in 1st and 2nd gear and sometimes in the higher ones this week it sometimes wouldn't go if on a hill or completely stopped. When I press the gas the rpms don't go up. I ended up stuck at a gas station. I got it home by pulling the e break and pressing gas until it finally went. Once I get past 1st gear it drives normally with a little sputtering at times. Any ideas on what the issue might be?
Does your CEL light work?
Pull down the two wire blue connector from behind/below the glove box door.
Jumper the connector with a wire and turn the ignition to II(ON), and retrieve codes from the CEL. If no codes, start with the basics.
Pull the spark plugs and make sure they are not worn(excessive gap) or fouled.
Verify there is fuel, and check the pressure with a gauge.
Make sure there is nothing blocking airflow.
Verify the MAP sensor is correctly working.

My cel light came on while I was getting it home but after turning off and back on it wasn't on anymore. I've checked spark plugs and they don't look bad but I may try changing them today.
