Default My car is acting crazy****

This afternoon when I left my work, my car was doing 2 crazy things. One, it was idling real bad, like going between 1000 and 1500 rpms as if I had a turbo timer or some ****. Two, it was running fairly hot when I was sitting still. Both of these problems seemed to go away after I drove 30 minutes home. They came back when I went to the gas station a few minutes ago. What could this be? I know it's probably some basic problem (i'm hoping) and someone will know. Thanks in advance. BTW i have the d16z6

Could have jumped a tooth on the timing belt. Throw any codes?

First, a properly installed turbo timer will not alter your idle speed.
How is your coolant are you running low?
Is the car running hot?
Check the coolant hoses and feel if there is coolant going through them.
Your thermostat or radiator could be bad.
These are my guesses with the information provided.

Ok, I checked my coolant, it was a little low. I put some more in and so far BOTH of the problems are fixed. I will update further if anything else goes wrong.

I took it to a "friend" aka cheap mechanic that i know. He is working on it as we speak. The idle is cause by a pinch in one of the vacuum hoses and the overheating is more than likely a thermostat.
