Default Stereo wire mismatch

I have an 89 civic Si in and the oem wire harness was cut (male connector) so I went to the junkyard and got one but it was off a civic sedan. On my hb wires I have a red with yellow stripe (mostly red with yellow stripe) and a yellow with red stipe (mostly yellow with red stripe) but on the oem male connecter I got from the sedan it only has the mostly red with yellow stripe on it. From there on the wire colors match up but I'm left with a white with green stripe and and the yellow with red...where do I connect those wires?

searching the forums... find about 10 other threads just like this iv replied to with an indepth wiring answer......

assuming u matched the colors correctly and those are the only 2 left, 1 will be a dimmer which we dont need/use, and the other should be a 12v constant. yellow/red will more then likely be the dimmer which u can leave hanging because stock car harness doesnt have a 12th wire

Would I be able to connect the yellow with a red stripe to the white with blue stripe (memory wire) so I've read.?

What year was the Civic sedan ? I recently ran into the same problem and solved it quite easily by searching for a pinout for my 89 CRX DX then the pinout for the 92 accord LX that I got the male harness from. Easy peasy

i know that the power wire is yellow with a red stripe on my Si Hb but on the sedan male connector its red with a yellow stripe...i dont want to connect the yellow w/red to the red w/yellow stripe as that it might be a speaker wire. does anyone know if the power wire is a different color on different trim levels or if the power wire is a different color on sedans? any help is appreciated.

just a hint... speaker positive is above speaker negative.. which leaves a postive/ground/12v constant +- dimmer
