D16z6 Swapped project CEL 21
Before I start throwing money at fixing something (and while I can't call the shop I got some parts from till Monday) I may as well ask and learn some more.
I got a 89 civic 4 door swapped the d15b2 dpfi out and put a d16z6 mpfi in it. new z6 dizzy, 4 wire o2, jumper ecu harness, chipped/socketed p28, manifold, etc...
I get into vtec barrily and it drops code 21.
solenoid reads 17 ohm, wire at the ecu reads 20 (ish), Screens are perfectly clean, Solenoid functions perfectly using a battery to jump it. stethoscope thingy my buddy hears it engage when I free rev it (put a LED on the wire to confirm, works as well) It will slightly rev into vtec softly but with any throttle it drops CEL 21 and wont touch the vtec again till I re-set/re-start car.
Is there any chance it's the vtec thingy still? or is it pretty much 99.9% the ecu now? I believe since it's a d16z6 we have the knock sensor disabled.

Uh yeah. No one in this forum really ever posts of having to do any DPFI to MPFI conversions for one so no one can comment on your execution and if that and if it's the cause of the code, and for the fact that this is forum is for 5th & 6th generation Civics (as in cars, not parts). And lastly, since that engine never came in your model, it's a hybrid and belongs in the appropriate forum.
But hey, it's been a few days and no "more knowledgeable people" have responded to your post have they? On top of all of it you mention that's it's sitting in a shop? How are we supposed to troubleshoot a car that's sitting in a shop?
But since you're looking for suggestions on how to fix a code 21 here you go.
