Default Keyway is gone?

This car loves to take a **** on itself all the time. Anyway, story time.

Was driving home and notice my battery light came on. Confused, I head home anyway to check it out later. Then I hear a weird high pitched sound and notice I lost power steering. (Okay, the belt is lose and screwed) Noise got progressively worse and the car was running bad but I managed to get home.

Turn it off, look under the hood and notice I was right. Also the crank pulley is loose as hell, nearly about to fall off but it doesn't. It wiggles around.

D16Z6 1995 Civic EX.

I know new belts are in order, but would I need a new crank pulley, or will a keyway like my friend suggested, be able to fix it alright?

Will post pictures if needed

That looks all sorts of misaligned. You need to remove the crank bolt, remove the pulley, and post pictures of all of the above. Something there is seriously fucked up.

Leaking oil pan, or crank seal, missing crank key. Fix those issues before driving it anywhere. Why would you need a new pulley when you haven't inspect it, which pulley are you even talking about?

it depends on how rounded off the end of the crank is. there could also be bearing damage from being unbalanced.

Similar happened to my son's 96 Civic EX Coupe about a month and a half ago. The big bolt holding the Crank Pulley (also called Harmonic Balancer) to the Crankshaft loosened enough for the pulley to move - it destroyed the key and key-way in the pulley and did a little damage to the key-way in the crank.

After trying eBay for an inexpensive used one and getting shipped a part that didn't fit - I ended up ordering a new Harmonic Balancer from Amazon for about $80 - Dorman 594-225 Triple Serpentine Harmonic Balancer (not sure if this fits a 95) - it shipped with a key and fit perfectly. Installed it and new belts and all has been working well so far (until he crashed it last week - thought the engine is still fine). Let me know if I can provide more info - there are a lot of good posts here on how to remove and install.
