i have a 95 civic with a d16y7 motor, stock from all i can tell.. The idle fluctuates from a cold start but when it warms up it runs fine.. any help in this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

 

What is it the 5th one this week? IACV. Clean it.

Not dealing with you. Why you aren't mentioning what steps you've already taken is just wasting people's time. Folks that post here volunteer to help and don't tend to like playing guessing games. Last bone; FITV. After that do a search to see what was recommended to everyone else that had this issue.

I don't care. It's common sense to tell people what you've done and not just say "it's broken and I can't fix it". You don't say HOW the idle fluctuates. You don't give numbers. You don't say and still aren't saying what you did so far.

The Y7 is NOT stock in a 95. So what ECU are you using?

And I even mentioned the FITV and you didn't seem to care enough to check it. Just wanted to respond to voice your frustration. And PLEASE don't tell me you searched.

 

i dont have a tach so i cant tell you what its revving to i bought the car for work as i work out of town now, when i test drove it, it ran fine (it was also at normal running temp) when i brought it home i started it the next morning and the thing goes crazy revving up and down till it warms up.. runs fine while in gear and once warm.. and the ecu idk and have no clue how to check it, i didnt buy thing to race or tune just wanted something with good gas mileage.. also i just finished cleaning the FITV however snapped the head off a bolt so looks like ill just buy a new one now.. Also i havent done much due to the fact that I dont wanna mess something up, cleaned the IACV and now the FITV

 

Did you FULLY clean the IACV, or did you just pull it off and spray it? The Y7 uses a funny plunger IACV - if you didn't fully remove, disassemble, clean, reassemble, set, and reinstall it, you didn't do it right.

 

I tore apart the FITV and cleaned it.. But idk how to tear apart the IACV I just sprayed that..

 

Ok I got it fixed used about a half can of carb cleaner but its idling way better thanks for the help!
