mounts
engine kicks quite hard when shifting into reverse. mostly on cold start ups. engine looks like it moves while pressing gas pedal and holding brakes. figured it could engine and or auto trans mounts? anyone have any imput or knowledge of where and how hard its be to change them out?
Engine and Transmission mounts locate the engine in the bay.
Front and rear mounts are what control the rotation of the engine.
If the vacuum control for the hydro mounts or the hydro mount fluid has lost its property, the mounts will not properly control the engine.
Test the vacuum controls first, before changing the mounts out.

I cannot locate one for the V6 but the test procdeure for the F22B1 is available online, but I cannot locate it either.
Basically you want to make sure that the vacuum control circuit is working properly.
IIRC vacuum is off when the engine is idling, and then vacuum is applied to solidify the mount under acceleration.
If that circuit is not working properly the mount will not solidify under load, and may even damage a new mount by allowing excessive movement.

That is for the F series rear mount, but albeit the test procedures are similar.
