how much hp out of d16z6 engine?
I would like to know what is the maximum horsepower I could get out of the stock 91 Si engine and still be able to use it everyday (meaning keeping the accessories) and of course RELIABILITY
Is it better to do b16 swap ?????
I want fast but livable.
When I get the money my target hp is 216.... (that's double the d16z6 hp)
Is it attainable? from either engine??

Oh and for the D16Z6 stock internals max hp, it's right here. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=253602
That's right - the stock Si motor is called the D16A6.. The Z6 is from 92-95 Civic Ex/Si's (sohc vtec).
The A6 motor pumps out 108 hp stock from the factory. Bolting on an intake, header, exhaust and high flow cat will bump it up to maybe 120 hp. If you want the A6 motor to be pulling over 200 horses, you're definitely gonna need some sort of forced induction. (turbo, supercharge)
Be more specific on how you want to reach this 200 hp mark! You can hit this either with the A6 motor, or swap it out to a B series motor - it doesn't matter which motor you use, it's what you're willing to spend, and the effort your willing to spend towards the finished product. IMO, it would be easier to just swap out the motor, and put like a B18C in there...

i hope i'll be putting out at least 135+ HP with the D16z6 with header, intake and exhaust im puttin in. by the way... anybody selling 88-91 CRX Si axles?
sorry for the mistake....... anyway what is the best way to go...?? for the 216hp I want to reach........ b16 or modify the existing d16a6???
I want same size engine because I dont want to affect the weight distribution..... interested in handling not only straight line acceleration....... that's why I want b16 instead of b18...................
summarizing I want a better car in every aspect.......

I'd say get either a entire Z6 block, convert to OBD-1, and throw a turbo kit on there. It shouldn't be too expensive, this way your car will stay nice and light.
Or get a ZC and turbo that.
I really don't think B18's are much heavier than B16's, your talking like 20 lbs or something... (i really don't know tho)
If I were you, I'd go with the Z6 route, these motors like boost.
BTW: The B16 is very noticably heavier than the Zc, or the Z6/A6/Y8 - it's not just the displacement that matters (all 1.6's) The Z6 is only like 3 lbs heavier than it's A6 brother (considering only the block&head in comparison)
