91 Civic - code 9
Ok so im back again. Had one of my buddys come look at my car. This is what I have.
91 civic si with a jdm b16a with lsd tranny. Car has an obd0 harness with jumper harness to a chipped p28 from HA motorsports. It has a obd2 vtec dizzy cleanly spliced to the harness. Car runs and drives.
My problems im having is....
Code 9 cylinder position sensor
Vtec not cracking
The car shuts off after driving and coming to a stop it just dies out
Ive changed the dizzy twice with 2 other obd2 dizzies. Reset the ecu and im still getting the same code 9.
Just wondering if anyone else has ever seen or heard of this setup/ stuff happening and what you did to fix it. Or any opinions on how I could fix this.

Anyways, since your Vtach aint crackin, let's start simple.
You need a new distributor. An OBD1 B18C GSR distributor. OBD2 and OBD1 electronics usually mix unless sensor are not present in the same location. I'd stick with an OBD1 distributor.
EDIT: OBD0 does not mix with OBD1/OBD2. Just a FYI for anyone reading this. CEL code 9 is a sensor within the distributor that is not easily replaced. More often than not, the entire unit is replaced.
I bought the car this way just so every one knows
And yes i have an obd0 harness with jumper to the chipped p28 and a obd2 dizzy cleanly wired to the harness... they cut the wires to splice in the obd2 plug

The code 9 Is the CYP sensor. Code 9 can be caused by a faulty CYP sensor. It can also be caused by wiring issues and BAD TIMING. You must check through all these things and trouble shoot. Here where i would start Verify your ignition timing and mechanical timing.
