F22b1 Turbo Build Q's
Before the flaming starts this is my first turbo build and I may have some dumb questions to ask but they have to be answered. I WAS going to rebuild and swap a H that I bought and wanted to boost it but I lost intrested because of my financial situation right now. I read on some threads that's the f22b1 a good candidate for boost even on stock internals but I want to take it farther than that boosting to maybe 18psi. This all will be going into my 94 accord & I am guessing turbo-ing the f will be a bit cheaper so here are the Q's
1- I have H22a Brian crower h-beam rods I bought in advance for my h build can they go into my f motor since the f & h share some similarities?
2- I also bought a p28 ecu (again for my h build) that I want to put in with my f build but what do I do to it for it to run with my f build? Obviously tune it but do I socket it or just leave it all to the tuner?
3- I have no clue what the difference is between Neptune, crome, hondata and if I will have to install? someone please fill me in!
4- Where can I buy these iron stock sleeves everyone talks about? I know a machine shop that is credited to be very good for a fairly cheap price.
5- Any good suggesting for a turbo and kit?
I would love to also see pictures of other people's builds related to mine if you have any please post! Make fun of me if any of you want hahah but at least answer my Q's
Thanks in advance!

MOs most people fabricate their turbos, not really a kit but you can look into it, check bisimoto.com for part that you may need, also hondata is what many here in cali like using since most of the tuners here use it, idk were you are but hondata here is used a lot.
i have a buddy who has a turbo f22b1 ill have him send me some pics so you can check them out, the f22b1 is a great engine for turbo, even though some seem to say that its not worth it, but check out the induction forum here its really helpful, I'm pretty sure that will help you out!

I live in Chicago and I will check into hondata. Also please do about those pictures and if you can let me know a little info about his build I would really appreciate that. Thanks!

2. You should find a local tuner. Tell them what you have and what you want for a build. They should be able to tell you what you will need to do to the ECU. Most tuners will provide chipping/Emulator installation and tuning services.
3. Again go with what your chosen tuner prefers to use. That will usually end up being the most coast effective.
4. The F22B1 and F22B2 already have iron sleeves stock from the factory.
That's one of the great things about them. if you want to bore the block out over 87mm then I would suggest Darton M.I.D sleeves. http://www.darton-international.com/5. Stay away from Ebay kits and cheap turbos.
From the questions you have asked here it seems as though you may want to take a look around the forced induction forum for a little bit. Do some research into the basics of how a turbo works. Educate yourself on the operation so that you can make an informed discussion on what would be the best unit for your goals. Just bolting up any old cheap turbo that someone on the internet sells you may not give you the effect that you want.

1. if you choose to run the 143mm H22 rods vs the 141.5mm F22 rods. You will ether have to run custom pistons ($550) or a really thick head gasket. A thick head gasket is not exactly what you want on a boosted build. I will be running H22 rods in my build, I ordered a set of pistons with a 29.08mm compression height. that will keep your piston down in the block as well as your compression ratio.

I hear ya on the Integra and Civic thing. There are quite a few boosted Accord builds on this site. 400whp on stock sleeves is achievable with the proper internals, clearances and good tuning.
The key is to find a tuner in your area that you can sit down with and actually talk about your build. Not one that will just quote a price and send you on your way. If you can find a tuner who will inform you and give you options. That is a tuner that is worth using. You don't really want one who just tells you a price without options or letting you know what it involves.
Once you find a tuner that you can relate with the build should come easy....
What is your budget?

Well with college and all i got about maybe $1500-2000 somewhere in between on this build. I was thinking already buying a remanufactured f22 head (they're about $300-350 on eBay) remove the head of my motor keeping the stock sleeves and just upgrading the rods pistons with some bisimoto goodies and oem gaskets as welll.
