98 Acura EL - C552 door plug pinout
So looking for a bit more help on this one.
Have the same problem on a 1998 1.6 EL. I have a pdf of the Helms, it shows C552 as the connector but doesn't have a pinout diagram.
I rewired on a new plug I got from the junkyard but screwed something up, windows work fine but mixed up wires between the mirrors & locks and trying to figure it out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hello, fellow Saskatooner:
I agree with Ron@HT that his diagram of connector C556 will be useful. Only thing I could see being different is that the EL had heated mirrors 97 through 00, while CDM Civics only had heated mirrors in 99-00. This might affect which wire goes where on a 98 model, and based on that diagram there sure are a lot of exceptions and caveats to heed, so this probably applies. Check the service manual to determine which wire colour is for "heat" on a 97-98 model.

Remove your door panel and pull the door harness connector that mates with the connector that has transposed wires. The door harness will show you what color wire, location of the pin, and most importantly the gauge of wire.
You will likey have duplicate colored wires but one being a smaller 20 gauge wire and the other being a larger 16 gauge wire. Make a video and or draw a box. Then share it with us please.
This is how I did mine.
I had to remove my door harness because although I had the C556 pinout for my car, it did not tell me which blue/yellow wire of the two went where. There are 4 sets of duplicated wires in the EX Coupe 1996-2000.
Again, please share your findings here. Good luck.
