valet switch ???
I've got a dilemna. After locking my car last nite my viper pager started acting really wierd, it kept glowing orange but would not respond to any of the buttons. I proceeded to take the battery out and in but it solved nothing. Now the orange light as since gone out and it seems like it just needs to be programmed again not quite sure.
I need to get in my car, and I was told that I would be able to disable the alarm with my key along with pushing/flipping the "valet switch". I was told it is underneath the driver side area.... anyone happen to know where that is?
all help will be greatly appreciated

Re: valet switch ???
thats the problem. I'm not the first owner and the douche i bought it from decided to never answer any of my calls. I was just under my steering column for a good 30 mins. looking and I don't seem to see it anywhere. As of right now my car is stuck sitting
situation seems unfixable at the moment, minus towing my car to the shop which i really dont want to do

Re: valet switch ???
The 2-way DEI remotes can be pretty delicate. I've seen brand new ones, right out of the box, dropped on concrete floor never work again.
Typically most DEI remots can be programmed this way...
Locate valet switch
Insert key into ignition and turn "on"
Press and release the valet button, then press it again & hold it, while at the same time pressing the lock button on the remote.
The alarm should sound, and the new remote should be programmed.
Turn key off and try the remote.

Re: valet switch ???
I have a 2008 Honda Element & lost both auto starter fobs (long story). I bought the correct replacement fobs but to program them I need to find the valet switch. I cannot find this switch & it's driving me cuckoo. Anyone know where it's located? Thanks a million!

Re: valet switch ???
This isn't the Honda Element forum AND you bumped a 5 year old thread in the wrong forum. It's amazing how you don't take it to teh dealer to have them show you.

Re: valet switch ???
I know you bumped an old thread but... try looking by the OBD service connector under the dash... I believe its located some where near the connector. I do not recall the color of the switch, though.

Wrong forum/thread for an element. Thread was complete years ago.
