Default Crazy Temp Gauge

Every time I turn on my brights the temp gauge goes all the way to the highest (hottest).
This also affects the fuel gauge.
When I turn on the headlights to normal and turn on the blinkers the temp gauge goes up and down with the blinker coming on.

Just plain weird.

It could be a few other things, but it definately sounds like you forgot to ground to your chassis. Check your grounds. Should be a ground from battery to chassis, and battery to tranny for starters

All three of them are in place. I will check continuity from them to the battery tonight but think it was ok when I was checking for something else.

There is a ground wire for the cluster. I believe is connects under the dash to the steering column.

Check the wiring at connector C405, there may be a short in the wires. A short is an accident touching of an exposed wire to ground or another wire.
