Assuming it's hooked up right, that cylinder could be misfiring.

How erratic? Does it bounce up and down rapidly? Or does it just gradually move up and down moderately as you're driving?

If it bounces erratically, then I'm sure it's just the wiring. As for the ground, make sure there is no paint on the surface that it's grounded to. Also, check to make sure it's not shorted out on something either...maybe at the firewall where you ran it through? Sometimes if there's no rubber grommet, the insulation can strip itself and short it out. Or it could be magnetic interference of some sort? (Dunno, but it's possibly?)

If it's gradually moving up and down, then you have bigger issues to deal with...mainly your tuning. Good Luck!

it;s off the hook bouncing. like i think the gauge is going to break. it;s for sure a ground problem. but i cant figure it out. i think im just going to replace all my ground cable with some thiker gauge wire. do a little sanding where they connect and see what happens.

I had a problem last summer with mine doing the same thing. The probe wire was too close to the engine and it got too hot. I took some silicone hose, sliced it down the middle, wrapped the wire, and zip tied it every half a foot to hold it there. No probs since.
