Does the 1993 Del Sol 1.6l have an ac expansion control valve? If so, where is it physically located? The Honda service manual doesn't show or mention one. There is an A/C pressure switch near the compressor and receiver/dryer but that's all I can find. I'm planning to replace the well-worn 21 yr-old R12 refrigerant compressor with the current R134a type and want to be sure that I haven't forgotten to replace the control valve.

 

It does have an expansion valve. It is located inside the evap core box behind the glove box. Also make sure you replace the condenser and dryer as well.
