Default z6 - a6 bottom end differences?

What is the difference between the d16a6 bottom end and the d16z6 bottom end since the z6 head will yield more compression on an a6 block.?
a.)block
b.)pistons
c.)both.

I know the rods and crank are the same.

a6 pistons are flat top amd the z6 pistons are dished. That is really the only difference except for the engine code on the block.

I'm pretty sure that the Y8 head will give you more compression.

actually i dont know the technical differences, but the a6 block is prefered for building up.

A6 or Z6 will work the best. I'd use a Z6. The best combo is Z6 block/Y8 head for high compression. The y8 has crappy rod/main bearings so I've heard, so they're not as durable.

Woohoo!!! My setup y0! You know, I think I'm gonna toss in my old A6 pistons to my Z6 block... I mean, why not?

That's what I wanted to know. The pistons are different.

I have a a6 block with a z6 head. I put JE pistons in (z6). I was wondering if I had higher compression because of the setup. I don't since the pistons are slightly dished like the original z6 pistons. That's good since I will hopefully be turboed soon.

Yeah that's true - I'm still trying to debate as to whether I should go turbo or not. (supposedly my compression ratio is 9.8:1 right now) Argh!

I could put the A6 pistons in, do a P&P job on the head, maybe toss in a new cam, put some more aggressive program in the ECU and I'd be pullin like a ****!

Or I could just toss in a homeade turbo kit! Or maybe even get a ZEX kit! So many options... But which one? Or maybe I shouldn't do anything at all...

Mr Todd. I was reading your sig. I have my old summit racing rpm switch that I used for a vtec switch. $15 shipped FedEx 2-day If you want it. Just hook it up to a relay. There's a few websites on how to do it. I put in a vafc a couple of weeks ago so I don't need it anymore.
