Default Copper Spray removal from Cometic Head Gaskets?

Hey guys, like the title states, I was an idiot for using copper spray on my head gasket that I paid 80$ for. I was told it was for a better seal, I sprayed way too much. Is there a way to remove the spray without hurting the gasket, or am I out 80$ and have to buy another? Thanks guys.

Copper spray every head gasket period. Even if it says right on the gasket "use no sealer". I am a seasoned 30 year mechanic with My own shop and EVERY head gasket gets copper spray.
The ONLY head gaskets that ever returned to me were the ones (two to be exact) that call for some stupid *** torque sequence that tightens, then loosens, then tightens. I will never follow the loosening sequence again and havn't had a bad head gasket since (15 years).
Copper spray is non hardening and will get out of the way when torqued. It will however, fill scratches from bad head milling (to some degree) which most cars now require very smooth surfaces. Copper spray will also transfer heat well, because hey, there is real copper in it. No worries on the extra, clamp it down in three steps to the torque sequence, all good.

Thanks soo much for the reply, you say it transfers heat well, what happens if the copper seaps onto the pistons, I don't want it to get in there and scorch/scratch my cylinder walls like I said I used ALOT lol like 5 thick coats or so thanks again

I spray it accrs every piston when I'm coating it up. It will just burn off the moment the motor starts up. 5 coats! That's something. It is a liquid (glue) and will move away.

I wish you the best of luck with that Cometic gasket.
Some people have good luck and some people end up with it leaking soon after install.

Are you talking about with the copper spray or just cometic all together?

Most of the failures I've read are people complaining about are due to not having copper spray.
They switch to OEM with no leaking at all.
Very few complaints with copper spray and again, switch to OEM and no problems.

It seems like a hit or miss.
