Hi guys, do you have experince with hand made multi layered head gasket?

I need to make thicker head gasket. So i bought new OEM head gasket and I'm planning use two middle layers from old head gaskets and put together. So i will have 5 layered head gasket with 1mm thickness.

I know that Cometic make this but i dont have time and Im from Europe so it take one month to shipment HG from Cometic and another time for make it.

What do you think guys?

I’ve had good luck with it. I used it on two different occasions on the same engine about a year apart so I don’t believe it is a permanent solution. It was a high mileage car that I didn’t particularly care for and I knew the engine had been rebuilt once before we got it. At the time I wasn’t in a position to replace the car (head gasket fix) and didn’t want to spend the money on another engine so it had to last another year or two if possible. If it was something I really liked and intended to keep around a while then sooner or later it would need to be fixed right. Maybe I would still give the gasket sealer a try if I needed to buy some time but eventually, I’ll be replacing the gasket or the engine.
