First turbo build advice and my ideas. b18
hello all. I have had a 1994 civic ex for about a year and a half and i am finally gonna nut up and open my pocketbook and turbo it.
---------power goal 230whp---------
Just wanting a few opinions on what i want to start with.
first of all current set up
--b18a1(motor burns no oil leaks nothing and has not had a problem for the last 15k miles, since i got it) unkn miles but its really clean and solid
--ls trans
--stock exhaust
--the old IM and fuel rail
parts to start the build
---go auto-works basic turbo kit
---440cc injectors
---MSD ignition
---widebad
---netune rtp
---get it tuned by adrenaline in stl
---3 inch exhaust
i have done alot of reading on what should be good and safe i want to do it rite and not half *** it. It will not be my dd during the build so ima take it slow
my questions are
1. what is a good intake manifold to get?
2. are arp studds absolutely needed?
3. will the stock oem clutch handle 230whp?(i had the clutch off a year ago and it was in really good shape)
i do not do a lot of online posting but i mess with me my bro's and gf's civic all the time. I've rebuilt two motors (stock) both d series, done some HG's, did a gsr swap with my bro, A minime, and plenty other re arranging of motors
THANKS SO MUCH FOR ANY COMMENTS OR ADVICE!!!!

1. For your power goals stock IM is fine
2. No but a very wise investment (i bought a used set on craigslist for $30 shipped not recommended but I'm poor lol)
3. I used an oem clutch for my turbo poor man's r (butt dyno 260-280ish whp) it held for only a couple of weeks before I replaced it. Just my experience might as well replace it while you have stuff taken off already

Ok thanks guys for the input.
What would be some good clutches too look into for turbo b?
I would prefer to stay away from 4 and 6 pucks I just don't trust them. Lol

I have a Competition Clutch six puck sprung hub on my build and love it, but it's overkill for you. For your build, I would go with the stage 2 "2100 Street Series" kit. The Exedy stage 1 would also be a good (and inexpensive) option for your goals.
They red white n blue
Any ways I was looking into the exedy clutches. Have not herd of 2100 street series have to look into them.
What would be some better injeftors?
Will a stock fuel rail be good?

The stock fuel rail is perfectly fine for you, and flows enough fuel technically to support power into the four digits. Realistically, it won't do that, but that's more a question of flow dynamics rather than flow rate.
Assuming a BSFC of .65, 440's will get you right up to your 220BHP goal @ 90% duty cycle, but not much further. You would be much better served with a set of Injector Dynamics ID725's.

1. I have a JG intake manifold which i like, but for your goal stock would be fine
2.Making 269whp on stock headbolts for 2 years no problems here!
3. I would go ahead and upgrade the clutch
