First time swapping my car and this question may have been answered already so sorry..

I have a 96 ek hatch with the original d16y7 and I will be purchasing a 98 spec jdm type r complete long block from a friend. The only thing missing is axles, trans, wire harness and ecu.

So my question is this. What wire harness do you guys recommend to use, a 96-98 ex harness? Or should I just buy one of line from ry-wire.com already tucked and custom? And what problems would I run into with this jdm swap bogs, cel codes, miss fire o2? I wna do this right and run the type r ecu p73. Please and thanks will greatly appreciate any professionally recommendations, feed backs and advice!!!

 

Are you running the JDM ECU or USDM? For the harness it depends on your budget. You could even use your harness and add the VTEC and knock sensor wiring. You'd also have to change your IACV connector over as well.

 

Thanks man probably just gna use my old harness and add the vtec and knock sensor wires to save money. Im going to be using the jdm 98 spec ecu
