Default B16 building questions

hi guys,

i wanted to know how much HP can i run at a b16a1. its the european VT CRX engine and comes with 150 hp...

the engine is disassembled and i know the head is completley new...

the block is not looking good.. so i wanna rebuild it with forged pistons and everything...

what would you recommend me to get and replace ?
first i wanna go NA but MAYBE later i will go JSRC if its not enough...

thanks

Eagle rods and CP pistons is pretty common. Or manley rods and Wiseco pistons. Or any combo really. Just pick the compression ratio you want. For NA, go higher obviously. 10:1 is pretty decent for both. It's 'high' compression for boost, but still easy to tune with modern day options. And it won't be dreadful NA. It will be essentially stock b16A compression though.

As for HP you can push out of a completely stock B16a, 300~ whp. For forged internals, probably 500 whp before you see the limit of the sleeves. But you will find the limits of much more before you push the sleeves.

If the block doesn't look good, go through some of the forced induction builds and see what people typically replace. Or the all motor forum, either way the concept of building a motor is the same. Those two subforums will have the most info for this I believe.

Alright thanks.. well thr block is good i just need new pistons , Pleul and bearings ..a friend sells his because he swapped his crx engine..

So if i take 10:1 eagle compression pistons i still have the choice of going NA or boost?

I mean how much hp can i get of the b16a1 NA? I would like to stay na but i think it wpnt work because i wanna run 240 hp.. later.. well first 200 or even 180 will be enough i just run 124 hp.. but i know in future i want some more..
Btw. I cant use itb's theyre not legal in my country....

Thanks for ur help so far i hope u could keep on helping a bit

I am a big fan of building a tight NA motor that you can put nitrous on.

Instant horsepower with the press of a button or you can use hondata to do boost by gear.
