pre-cath o2sensor

Default pre-cat o2sensor

My "R" is converted obd2 to obd1 due to the engine rebuilt(was running very ritch)So im installing my mugen gen1 twinloop exhaust and plm test pipe that doesnt have the o2 bung and wondering if i will get in issue without this sensor???for now this sensor is in my oem exhaust,,,some said that obd1 the pre-cat sensor is not used ..i want a good advise

An obdI ecu will not be looking for the secondary o2 sensor. However if you need to go back to obd2 for inspection or any other reason, the obd2 ecu will throw a code for that sensor.

Someone told you wrong. OBD-I is only looking for the first sensor (pre-cat). It doesn't care about the 2nd sensor.

To be clear Im talking about the POST-cat sensor, sorry. See Todds answer.

On canadian cars there no post cat sensor only one in the header and precat
