Torque Converter Lock Up?
Honda started throwing a P0740 Lock up and P0700 code at the same time bout a month ago, I would reset it and it would come back on a couple days later while cruising at a consistent highway speed of 55... So i left it. Noticed when car is shifting from I THINK 3rd gear down to second it dosen't feel good. I changed the fluid out with DW-1. Noticed the tranny felt tighter. The other day i ran out of gas on the side of the road, when i was chunkin along down the road at 5 miles an hour i felt the car jolt up front and the gas pedal no longer worked. I thought it had died out, but when i came to a stop the engine was still running.
I put gas in it and went home. Drove it a couple more days, and similar thing happened only this time i had gas in the car.
Came off the interstate and onto a road, while i was doin bout 25 it shifted into a higher gear on the slow down and wouldnt come out of it then it wouldnt move it just revved up. so i turned off the road and parked it, fiddled with the key thing in the middle console which was NOT locked up, shifted threw all the gears a couple times, shut the car off and turned it back on and went back down the road. The only way i made it home was shut the car off at every red light and when it turned green i peeled *** down the road to pick up speed and it would stop propelling the car as soon as i got up to 3-4k rmps in first gear. NOT FUN.
So what should i start looking at here? I have been meaning to test the solenoids on the transmission just havent gotten around to it.

Replace the convertor. I don't think it's a lockup converter though, those are usually used on trucks and large passenger cars. I could be wrong though, I have never touched an autotragic. The easy solution is to convert to a manual though.
Tested the torque converter lockup solenoid and the shift solenoid today. One was at about 12.5 the other 11.5. Now when car is in park and running it whines like an RC car. Never did this before. i only tested with a multimeter not a hot wire.

When changing fluids, what steps did you follow?
Did the drain plug have a ton of sludge covering it?
Did the old fluid have a sheen to it as if loaded with metal, etc.
More details please...

Unfortunately, your transmission is broke. It quits pulling because the filter is clogged with debris, so it can't draw fluid through. Most likely, you had a torque converter failure that filled the trans with debris. The P0740 sets when the ecu commands lock up and doesn't see it. You can have the trans rebuilt or swapped. I don't recommend junkyard units because they get left out in the elements. You don't want to end up with one that's been contaminated with water or you'll be in the same boat you're in now.
