Speed sensor question.. help.
Im currently plugging up my engine harness into my new h2b swap using a 99-00 b16 trans. Engine wiring harness is a 96-98 obd2a. This is a new harness because my stock harness was messed up, but theyre both obd2a. The plug on the new harness for the speed sensor doesnt fit properly on the speed sensor in the tranny. However the plug on the original harness fits. I have a different spare speed sensor laying around and the new harness fits that sensor but the old harness doesnt. Im curious why this might be. Why do the twin 96-98 harnesses have different plugs for the speed sensor? I can rewire it or use the other speed sensor but im confused about why theyre different. Any info is appreciated.
All b series obd1/2 VSS should work. I have GSR transmission and the VSS is from sol VTEC 97.
According to this, inclusive d series also works (I never tried).

well the speed sensors are slightly different where the plugs connect, and theyre both b-series VSS's. the pins line up the same but the depth inside the clip is different, which causes one harness plug to snap into place on one VSS and the other harness plug to snap in on my spare VSS but not vice versa. im mostly just curious about why the plugs are different between the 2 harnesses when theyre both 96-98 obd2a 5spd vtec harnesses and theyre both unmodified.
