I think the one you should be looking for should have a metal top. I looked at the vss link you gave and I also was going to get one from them. I took the pictue to Hondoctors of the same one you are looking at and they said I should be looking for one with a metal upper half. If you need a pic, I can find one and show you.

Thanks for all your responses.... Was the D-series Vss vtec or non-vtec ? and to Franken... I know what you are talking about mine has the metal on it but i think thats bc its an oem part and this is and aftermarket oem replacement part ? Don't quote me on that though haha. I wrote to the manufacturer and asked so im just waiting to hear back.

use the D-series VSS it's all metal and it fits fine.

B/D-series VSS are pretty much the same, they will both work for one or the others replacement part. D-series are cheaper than the B-series VSS and it's all metal.

i would just get the d series for what ever obd your gsr is, just to be safe.

Well i have a gsr tranny , i have an obd2 b20vtec gsr head. jumper harness to obd1 running p28 ecu. does this not matter ? just go with obd2 then? just making sure bc im going to purchase in a few min. Thanks again for everyones help

if the motor is obd2 but is jumpered to obd1 than get the obd2...you can also bring a 10mm w/ you to the parts store, unplug it, pull it put, bring it in and make sure the one they are selling you has the same plug. I have been screwed at parts stores countless times b/c i just trusted they gave me the right part.

obd1 and obd2 vss / d-b-series is interchangeable and share the same connector.
