Default OT: Carbon fiber question. Is this hood salvageable?

I'm sorry to jump in here with this OT BS, but the rice forum isn't helping and I figure that yall would know best anyway.

Can I paint over this or will the cracking extend and mess up the paint from underneath? It is a really good deal, I just want to make sure that the spidering won't get bigger.

Try hosting someplace else. Your bandwidth will get owned in a sec.

No, you can cannot fix it. Use it as a race hood or make some parts with it.

I mean for $100+shipping I can take the hood and pins as is just fine. I'm afraid that it will get worse like glass does. Of course if it is possible to just paint it MR then I'd be more than happy to do that. The seller believes that it is the sealant that is cracked, but I can't tell from the pics.

So basically the CF is cracking and will probably continue to weaken and crack at that point?

That's what I'm guessing. It will only get worse since it's probably flexing at that point.

I highly doubt it's the CF cracking. Just the epoxy layer.
