Accord idle surging. Please help me
Ok.
My idle is going up and down at idle. Here is what all I've done to fix the problem... All ending in failure.
Egr valve
Map sencer
Clean egr port and plenum
Idle air control valve
Clean filter
Clean injectors
Check for all vacuum leaks
I'm sure there's more I've tried and cant remember. Its annoying as ****. My car is slick as **** lookin and it sounds like a p.o.s plus i cant put my turbo on til i fix this issue. Help me please!!
Thank you. Oh! And its a 97 f22b1 accord.

Have you ever replaced the fuel filter? Not sure if it could cause your problem but just a thought as it could be restricting the fuel flow when idling.
Also, I see you have cleaned out your IACV, make sure you have bled the coolant system correctly. Air pockets can cause surging.

Your distributor is bad.
I've had the exact same problem. Went over a similar list of things that I thought might be the problem, such as spark plugs, IAC valve, etc. None proved to be the culprit. But once I replaced the entire distributor assembly, the tachometer stayed still at idle after that.
Be sure to replace the part ASAP, or else you'll end up having to call the tow man, like I had to. Breaking down because of an ignition component burning out is no fun. No amount of cranking with starter fluid is going to save you.

if you take the top off of the fitv (two philips screws) there is a white plastic ring around the plunger. Tighten that plasic ring down (clockwise?) and the surging should stop. Just did it last week and it is fixed for me...
I had a similar issue that I worked on for three weeks. After cleaning and/or replacing everything listed in this thread nothing helped. Last Thursday the surge stopped with no explanation. Everything ran perfectly with the exception of a check engine light that came on suddenly. This weekend, after driving around for 50/60 miles that the O2 sensor had not been plugged back. After plugging it in the check engine light went away and the car continues to run like normal. I have never seen the O2 sensor mentioned in any suggested fix for the surge but you may for the heck of it, try unplugging the O2 sensor.

I fixed it!!! It was a idle control screw underneath the throttle body. It was too loose and was flowing to much tightened it up, adjusted the idle and boom. Runs brand new. No check engine light no nothing. Finally ready to put this turbo kit on!!! I will be the only boosted f series in my area.i Hope thats a good thing. Thank you to everyone.

There's never any reason to adjust the idle adjust screw unless someone fools with it for no reason at all.
