CRANK sensor error code 4---92 Accord
At my wits end with this error code. Runs fine for about 15 miles..go in a store then crank engine...ERROR 4 will start but barely. Sometime stalls at red lights. And pushing hard on gas pedal jerks and revs but won't engage. Slower travel works until I really push gas.
Replaced all spark plugs---oil in them
Replaced lower and upper gaskets including VC gasket
Replaced, dizzy cap and rotor (NOT Assemby)
Replaced ignition coil
What next is the crank sensor in the Dizzy assembly? replace ECU?
Any thoughts or ideas? Do I purchase a OEM dizzy?
When I remove cable from battery then engine light goes off of r guess what another 15 miles then it starts all over again.
HELP before I go broke trying it figure this out
Thanks guys

if it's happening after it gets hot, that's usually a sign the distributor is bad. but it could also be a wiring issue, which could be equally possible. And unless you shorted something our it's not likely the ECU is bad.
90-91 accords use a different distributor than 92-93 accords...assuming you got another accord distributor from the same gen but the wrong pair of years it's not going to start up.
Since it's not a reman I'm assuming you still have your old one. The only time I threw a code 4 was when my distributor bearing was going bad and it was throwing the red dust of death around my distributor. Look inside and see if there is a red dust inside your distributor. If there is, you can get a new bearing from Napa and swap it in or you can get another distributor from the junkyard. Again it needs to be a 92-93 distributor.
What was happening was the dust was getting in between the sensor and the shaft which was causing it not to be able to read the signal properly.
A couple diy threads regarding bearing replacement.

If there is no red dust you can take a pic of your old distributor housing, it will have a black rectangular box thing, that's the crank sensor. Make a note of exactly how it's positioned and just pull another sensor from the junkyard if you want or, again, pull an entire distributor.
The sensor is held by two bolts and is positioned so as the shaft spins it barely comes close to the sensor but doesn't touch it.
I suppose there's a small chance that a wire could be loose at the distributor connectors so check that if all else seems fine.

that's actually the correct distributor for your car.. as i already said you should check the distributor connectors...could be a loose or even disconnected wire
also check the 15a ecu fuse in the engine bay fuse box
