Post MSD Dizzy Cap.

Hey guys,

I have been toying with the notion of an external coil for a while now, especially for when I go boost, so when these items came up, from a friend, I grabbed them.

How do I hook this up? I'm using a stock dizzy and this msd cap. What am I missing? He did mention an ignition driver 6305, but is that necessary? What if I used a different coil, like say a Bosch coil?

Thanks

Not 100% sure on the exact install procedures, but this is the basic idea:
Remove stock coil from dizzy
Cut the coil wires and splice in extensions (long enough to reach the external coil)
Run the new extended wires to the external coil (they go on the 2 brass screw terminals)
Install the MSD cap
Run the red wire (with the gray ends) from the external coil, to the top lug on the msd cap

Seems simple enough, but will I need that ignition driver? Probably on this coil, but as I suggested, how about a different coil?

Not sure. My setup didnt have anything but the cap, external coil, and two extended wires...But I have the red coil, not sure if it's the same or not.

OK, so it seems that it's possible to use an alternate external cool then.

Anybody knows the benefit in using this coil with the additional (expensive) ignition driver, vs a regular external coil like a Bosch coil?
