interchangeable lsd?

Default interchangeable lsd?

I purchased a jdm type r trans with a 4.7 final drive. It is not lsd. my question is can i install a lsd from a 4.4 final drive?

If it is an OEM 4.7 you can install the OEM ITR LSD from a 4.40. As far as I know only the 98+ JDM ITR with LSD came with the OEM 4.7. Are you sure it's a OEM 4.7? Post some pics and the tooth count from the countershaft and ring gear.

yes i made sure, ive opened it many times there is 67 teeth on the countershaft and 14 tooth on the mainshaft. i KNOW for a fact its a 4.7 but i dont know about being OEM? lol. okay so just making sure a gsr lsd will fit my 4.7 final drive?...

The USDM GSR does not come with LSD and the JDM GSR uses a 14 bolt viscous LSD that will not fit. Look at the open diff in the trans for the casting numbers on the flange. PS1 is the small B16/B18B diff and P80 is the larger B18C GSR diff. If you have the P80 open diff, you can use the 10 bolt ITR OEM LSD.
