93 honda prelude air filer water
I have a 93 honda prelude it runs great the only problem is when it rains I still need to drive to work and the air filter on the right side will be sucking up water and tips on preventing this
Avoid deep puddles, and if you have no choice to hit it turn off the car first and coast through it. The entire intake filter needs to be submerged for a solid few seconds before it will suck it up. Splashing water on the filter wont hurt anything.
Ok, you know that you would need to totally submerge the intake pipe to actually suck up water right? That would generally mean that you are in 10+ inchs of standing water, which is not a good idea in a Prelude anyways.
If you are going to be doing things like this, either a short ram intake or a bypass section up further in the intake pipe would be your safest bet.
Also, if you don't have a fender liner to protect the filter, I would put one on, as you are just coating the filter in crap, and could easily damage the filter and allow dirt into the intake.
