cold air intake filter wet damage???
iight iv searched before i posted couldnt really find nothing so ima just ask i live in cali southern part by la its been raining lately so natural course parts get wet well ima little concerned on water gettn in my engine is it possible for water to travel in from the botton of my cold air intake into my engine jus my driving on the street i have a cover on it over my filter but im sure thats not really doing nothing but i guess my main quesion is it gonna be\\\ fine if the filter gets a little wet or how bad does it have to get wet before i feel problems,whats should i be looking out for!any possible answers thx

the way its been raining you should be a bit worried. yes water can be sucked up but it would have to be completely submerged in water and you would have to accelerate it a bit for it to go up all the way. its happened to plenty of people with CAI and somtimes the engine will hydrolock

iight i well iv been driving on the streets and not fast jus goin speed limit watching out for puddles havest gone over none jus the wet streets splashing on my filter but like i said i have some plastic cover or something its called a hydroshirld but im sure it aint doing much but thanks for the info

00 GSR. AEM CAI. No bypass. No issues with rain. Daily driver.
Yeah, my filter gets wet. Eh. Any puddle deep enough to worry about submerging the filter is NOT something an Integra should be driving through in the first place. The chassis would have to be set down into the water to submerge the filter, which is a water level high enough that the road should not be driven on anyway.

since it does happen im guessing they're think "if i go real fast through the puddle it wont suck up water"
but just try to avoid deep puddles and you should be fine

this is why i dont understand why people have cai if their so concerned about getting their car hydrolocked. if you think you have a chance, buy a short ram. simple
