All,
I have a D16y8 built turbo civic with a chipped p28 ECU; ostrich emulator. Recently Ive been having problems; after a minute or so of driving, once I hit boost (passing from vacuum to boost) my car cuts out completely. it seems to occur almost every time at this transition Example: mild acceleration get a big jolt like the entire system shut off then back on. keep trying to get into boost is hard. Driving it gets worse as i drive more. I can only drive for a couple mins tops. I think i am hearing my ECU "click" when this problem happens.
Im thinking its either:
ECU failure
Chip/emulator map corruption (how often does this occur, car has been running on this for years)
Map sensor failure
Also about 2 months ago, I changed fuel filter and started going lean in High boost (rarely would go there once noticed). Thinking that the new filter is limiting the fuel pressure to the injectors. I have a walbro hi pressure pump. Doubt issues are related.

No advice?
Im thinking it is a a failing Map Sensor, esp because the going lean issue in high boost that started a while ago. now as it heats up it gets worse.... Will check and report back

that click is probably engine knock, not your ECU
I doubt it's your MAP sensor, but that should be easy to identify if you just datalog for a minute, which you should have done to begin with.

I dont have a Knock sensor. It seems like the ECU turns off for a split second then back on once I go from vacuum to boost (less than 1psi) and at that point it doesnt show to be going lean. And this is recent issue, the car has been on this tune for years, so I doubt i have a lean cut out set up on Uberdata; and I dont ever remember having that capability. good thing its not my daily driver, so its been sitting since started this problem. Still need to datalog
