Default Need help with an engine swap!

Hey everyone!

Does anyone know of a good website that has step by steps of removing an engine out of an Integra? I need to take my motor out of my 2K ITR and I want to make sure I follow all the steps properly.
Any and all help is truly appreciated.
And, anyone know where I can get an Acctual Factory Service Manual for this car? something with a little more detail than the Chilton's that I can get from the local auto store!

Thanks,
-Neeraj.

http://www.helminc.com for the manual.

removing the motor is easy, and amazingly enough, you can find that info at http://www.helminc.com and then your home when the manual arrives.

your post begs the question though.. why do you need to remove the motor out of your 2000 ITR?

well, I have 40,000 miles on my car. I have done all the oil changes myself on my car from day one. never going over 3,000 miles. And now the engine went... it sounds like a rod bearing. Acura's 50,000 mile warranty does not want to live up to their end, because I change my own oil. I showed them credit card statements at the correct time interval for changing the oil. and that is the best I can do... anyway, it says in the warranty, that if I do my own work, it is not 100% necessary to keep the reicpts, but they can request to see them... anyway, if the bearings are bad, I would like to take the motor out to look at them, and I'll probably just replace the motor, rebuild this one, and put it in an old civic or something. I can't explain the problem tho, that is why I want to replace the motor, and then take a very close look at this motor to find out if I can see what caused the problem.
thanks for the help, anyone else have ideas?

get the manual first.

then pull the motor.

figure out what happened.

fix motor.

reinstall motor.

ITR motors aren't exactly cheap.. now if you wanted to build up a B20B/Z with a snail attached, or a B20VTEC with or without snail, I'd give you a big

I know they are not cheep (Almost $5000 from the dealership) But I am filing a lawsuit against Honda America this week and I have included the cost of a new engine. It would have been a much easier time for them to live up to their warranty, but since they won't I will use their "Replace not repair" policy against them.

So when I win the suit, I will have $$ for the new engine. So in the mean while I will pull this one, and wait.

Pulling the current engine will only make matters worse for you.

Who's to say you didn't sell your stock engine and buy a broken engine for $500 and claim you pulled it out of your car?

Forgot about that. Damn USDM crap.

Anyway, pulling the engine out of your car still works against you. It opens up a whole new can of worms.

What has your lawyer said when you notified him/her that you'd be pulling out the engine on your own?

If you're taking Honda Inc. to court you better have this guy working for you.

my lawyer knows that when we win the lawsuit that I am getting a new motor and swaping it. He told me to get it all done through a shop so I can document labor... but If I loged my hours that I work on it, that would be OK....

yeah, Acura is being very slow about things, it's making me really angry

I'll keep this topic posted with any happenings with the case. But any more sugestions about the engine swap? I just finished my swap in my Sentra SE-R I put a j-spec motor in with a turbo, so I kind of know what i'm doing, but some details or if there are any tricks, that would be great... I ordered the book from the website above.
