b20b swap and LS ecu
I know this works for most people, but I'm guessing most people use the higher compression b20b (99+) or the equivalent b20z, but the car i just bought had the engine swapped by the previous owner to a lower compression 1997 b20b, and he says it's running a stock LS ecu. It runs ok but smells rich. I'm wondering if the lower compression calls for less fuel or a different tune. Anyone have a clue what I'm on about?
it might smell like that because it doesnt have a cat in the exhaust.
ive had 2 b20's running off ls ecu's. both were lean on cold start and at wide open throttle. the rest was good to go thanks to the o2 sensor. i had to get an adjustable fpr and pump the pressure a bit to get it as close as i could to acceptable afr while in open loop
