Default oil in spark plug well, and on spark plug??

Hey everyone! Well I was just outside replacing my spark plugs when, to my pleasant suprise I find oil in the spark plug well. I look around a little bit and see that the seal for the #1 spark plug is broken up. So I then proceeded to pull out the #1 plug and see that the bottom of the plug was also coated in oil. I am not sure if it just got oil on it because it was sitting in the the spark plug well, or wouldnt that be a sign that my rings are bad??? My car doesnt burn any oil to my knowldge, and it dosent blow any smoke, except for the occasional little black puff of smoke coming from running rich. Is there anything else it could be, other than rings. I hope that I am not jumping to, too many conclusions. Thanks for the help.-Jay

Check the valve cover. There are round gaskets that go under each hole, where the spark plugs are located, on the valve cover. Most likely you leaking oil through this gasket down into the spark plug well. Check this 1st. if that is the problem just get some gasket sealer and repair it.

Do not use gasket in a tube. It be only temporarily fix your problem. The best and most no ghetto way (IMO) is to go to Honda and get new spark plug seals. Might as well get the outer valve cover seal while your at it. These seals are very cheap.

Cool guys thanks!! I actually had another valve cover laying around with good seals on it, and put it on for the mean time. Checked it again and it seemed that no more oil has leaked in. I did notice something weird though. With the car at a stand still I walked around back and had my buddie rev the car up. It seemed to be spraying water out of the tail pipe, then when the car would go to idle it would give a tiny poof of whiteish color smoke. I decided to get a paper towel and put it by the tail pipe, and have my buddie rev the car again. It sprayed water on the paper towel eanough to where the towel was wet and you could kinda see through it. I smelled the towel to see if I could smell gas or anything, nothing just straight water with a little bit of black carbon. Ohh well. Hey guys thanks for the help!
