EK airbag delete tray into EG
Hey guys before I go any further I don't need any sarcastic comments or bashing on how stupid it is to remove airbags. The car is a full blown track car with a cage and fia safety harnesses with proper seats aswell. I don't condone anyone deleting airbags in there daily driver not only for safety reasons but for legal reasons aswell. so I have looked everywhere for some solid info on putting a EK airbag delete tray into an EG and couldn't find anything. I couldn't really justify spending close $150 for the password jdm tray just to block a simple hole in my dash. Luckily enough Im canadian and the Civic cx in canada has passenger airbag delete trays. So there widely available at junkyards here. For the majority of you in the states these can be had for a much lower price as then password jdm ones.

There identical to the eg air bag
the only modifying that needs to be done is the original bracket for the airbag has to be removed. Also you have to either sand down or cut the original mounting tabs on the ek tray as seen in the photos below (Or atleast in my case had to. test fit and see if you need to before cutting.)

you might not get an oem fit but you will get close to it. No better then the PWJDM trays. Atleast the oem trays have tabs to secure the tray in place. you will have to do some small modify to the dash insert and cut the airbag brackets for the tray to clear. The shitty cellphone photo doesnt do it justice but it fits surprisingly well. The dash is dusty and the marks around the tray is just dust and dirt since the tray was sitting in my garage for quite some time.

Welllllll... Dash swap is SUPER easy (6 bolts), and dashes for all 5G Civics are also super easy to find, and often come with the glove box Intact. Also, no need to swap the door cards. So, I will respectfully disagree with you there. However, I have for a very long time wondered if the airbag tray would fit in an EG, especially since they are a pretty useful piece for holding stuff. So, thanks for this post!! This is a retrofit I've considered if I was to swap a dual-bag dash into my '93.
No I don't dont have enough time or dough to compete. I will be at shannonville though on the occasional kplayground event! Also to the other people saying a dash swap is easier this is an alternative for someone who might not want to remove and replace there dash. I was also just curious to see if it would fit or not and thought id share my outcome.
