I have a 90 dx hatch. I got into a small accident in December and have replaced numerous things since. My car can be driving 15-80mph and just randomly lose acceleration and rpms go up but car slows down then shuts off when it gets to a stop. Here's a list of what I've done to it all parts are brand new not reman parts. No codes on ecu either and it's a dpfi

Fuel pump and strainer, fuel filter, alternator, pcv valve, egr valve, distributor, icm, coil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel lines, engine temp sensor, oxygen sensor, catalytic converter, air intake temp sensor, main relay, new battery can someone please help I need to fix this before I go to drill on base 277 miles from my house

 

First give some more info on the accident. Was its front collision or rear? Could help to figure out problem. Also all the parts you replaced was that because you are chasing the problem or did you do that for maintenance?

 

It was a front end collision and chasing the problem

 

hook up a fuel pressure tester and run it out the window taped to the windshield or something ghetto and do the same with a volt meter hooked up to coil power and thermostat ground. Drive around and see what happens when it dies then chase down problems in that system rather than running around in circles throw parts at it all haphazard like. New parts can be faulty too.

Everything is at it's normal operating ranges i think it may be the injectors or a fuel pressure regulator

 

Drill on base? 277 miles from home? That just sucks.

Anyways. On topic. Is it automatic? Couldn't it be that pressure plate thing they have going bad or something?

 

Well I have all the stuff for a manual swap on the way and I have a friend that does a amazing Job doing a dpfi to mpfi and obd0 to obd1 gonna try those and if it's still there then I have no clue and yes going that far for drill really does suck I pass 4-6 bases on my way there I'm just glad I had the problem around home and not on my way there

 

Btw explain how the automatic trans can cause that problem this is my first auto so not really tech savy on autos only manuals and they were easy to work with when something went wrong
