fuel problems?
im new to this forum and i haven't found anyone that can help with this problem yet so im hoping someone here can
i recently bought a 92 hb si (has a d16z6 vtec). the car was a little rough and had been sitting for over 2 years. i replaced the distributor with a new one, new rotor and cap, new plugs and wires, new map sensor. doing this cleared all the cels, which were map sensor and cylinder position sensor cels.
this still didnt fix the problem when it was running. the car would start but it would bog out constantly and fall on its face like it was running out of fuel. so i changed the fuel pump and fuel filter now the car will run perfect sometimes and other times it will bog out usually after i rev up to around 5k and run it through the gears. the motor would usually always come back after a few pumps of the throttle.
not sure if it will help with a diagnosis but also when i go to fuel the car up i can hear the tank suck in air when i take off the gas cap. since the fuel pump fixed the problem for the most part im fairly sure its a fuel problem but im just not sure.
please help

Re: fuel problems?
Try a Seafoam treatment in the gas tank and through the brake booster vacuum hose to the intake manifold, and also check the ignition timing with a timing gun.
