I own an 88 honda civc. 4dr sedan

it took me a week to remove my front struts (mickey mouse tools)

Long story short. after trying to find the correct strut for my civic, and ripping the old ones out. With no chance of putting them back in. my fork dampers are 42mm. the struts are 38 mm.. where do i find the fork dampers ?? better yet what size struts are 42mm? PLEASE help. i have incredible knocking now Because of the gap.

if it helps any. the old sturts were drop zone? some american no name brand..
either new dampers or return the struts and get the correct ones.

You have the wrong front shocks.

You can use eg and DC front forks which have larger diameters that will fit. No other difference.

 

yea i noticed. but where do i get the right sizes one? everytime i try they give me the wrong shock. i dont know what year shock to get.

 

i dont think you understood.

eg = 91-95 civic
dc = 94-00 integra

eg and dc forks are the same and will fit your larger diameter shocks.

you can get these forks at the junkyard or wherever.
